Briggs 206 Engine. The spec engine for the 206 class raced through out the world. Hand built in Wisconsin to exacting specification and producing 8.8hp and typical speeds for the senior call is between 55-60 mph. The 206 is then sealed to make sure each motor coming out of Briggs & Stratton Racing does not get modified keeping them the most equal in the karting industry. The 206 engine creates competitive racing at an affordable price. It is up to the driver and chassis set up to who will be the fastest.
The Briggs Animal Engine is the unsealed version of the 206. The Animal does not come with the pull starter and it has a 12,000 rpm ignition system where the 206 has a 6100 rpm ignition. The Animal you can modify the motor to run in different classes through out the USA.
The Briggs World Formula is the big brother to the Briggs 206 and Animal motors. The World Formula has 14 hp with a 7100 rpm ignition. The World Formula is a spec motor package that you can change some spec to meet minimum such as deck the head or the block. You still need to use the Briggs OEM parts such as Connecting Rod and Piston.
