Kart-O-Rama has been supporting kart racing since 1959. Jack Lehmann started the business in 1959. He made it his full time career in 1993 opening a store in Tacoma. Jack for many years previous to opening the store built kart motor and supplied parts from his machine shop at his home. Roger Semro bought the business in December 2002. With Jack at Roger’s side the business out grew the Tacoma facility and in October 2004 Roger moved the store to a 4000 square foot facility in Sumner, Washington. Joining our team in 2007 is Charlie Hemmi. Charlie grew up in the northwest. He was the motor builder for Pitts Performance for 8 years providing Pitts with many National Championship motors and drivers, before returning to the Pacific Norhtwest.
Jack at age 74 is Kart-O-Rama’s Chief Engine Builder and continues to build National Championship motor for karters around the country. Charlie is our engine and chassis specialists. With Charlie and Jacks knowledge of motors we have great amount of engine building, chassis and engine tuning at the track experience. Many of you may know Jack as he has been Race Director or Tech Director at many IKF National events over the past 20 years. If you don’t know him Jack is the President of IKF for 2006. Roger, Jack and Jack’s wife Marilyn, Charlie, Geneand Evan travel to more than 30 race events throughout the Pacific Northwest each year supporting kart racers. There commitment to supporting the kart racer at the track is number one on their list.
